Cadence containers are a flexible storage solution, perfect for travel. They’re waterproof and can magnetically connect to each other. With a sleek design, practical features, and a focus on sustainability, they attract many customers. The Popsicle project aims to expand this system. It’s an accessory created to solve the common issue people face when transferring thicker cosmetic products in and out of containers.

Modular Travel Container
The main target market is travelers who want stylish, well-designed containers for their cosmetics or medicine. These reusable containers are made from recycled polypropylene.
The system includes three modular sizes, and users can customize the laser-printed labels. The magnetized hexagonal shape makes them easy to pack in bags or luggage.

User Experience & Pain Point
Cadence users often struggle with thick cosmetic products in the small containers, finding it tough to pour them out directly. Since the containers are compact, transferring products in and out can be tricky and frustrating. A simple yet effective solution to this problem is using a small spatula—perfect for both scooping out the products and applying them smoothly to the skin.
Most spatulas on the market aren’t very user-friendly they come in random sizes and are often made of flimsy materials. We looked closely at different spatula designs: some shapes work better for scooping lotions, while others are great for scraping off excess cream. By focusing on these small details, we’re aiming to create the perfect tool for Cadence containers.
I start by setting a clear design goal, which helps me brainstorm different ideas through quick sketches. These visuals spark early design discussions with the founder and lead engineer to shape the direction.
Brainstorm

Rapid prototype & testing:
After exploring different design ideas, we brought them to life using 3D printing for hands-on testing. We went through several rounds of prototypes to fine-tune the size, usability, and production-ready design. Along the way, we worked closely with various team members, constantly refining the concepts and making sure everyone was on the same page at each step of the process.
Popsicle Spatula
The design has two key parts: a storage case and a spatula. Both are made to feel seamless, with no need for physical assembly for easy cleaning. For the storage case, Instead of using a regular hinge, we use magnets for a smooth open/close experience, keeping the familiar feel of traditional cases but adding benefits like easy cleaning and a more satisfying handling experience.
The spatula is carefully sized to transfer cosmetic products easily and is flexible enough to fit most cosmetic containers. Its simple shape tapers slightly at the end for better handling. Both the case and spatula attach to the original capsule container, creating a cohesive system.
